PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
To begin, I would like to offer my sincere condolences and express my sympathy and concern for all who have been affected by COVID-19. It is my hope that we can move forward in a better direction for the whole of society through the efforts of everyone helping to fight this pandemic. I also wish to reaffirm my respect and gratitude for the medical professionals and health care personnel who are working to provide care and support during the pandemic, and the researchers who diligently work to find solutions to stop the COVID-19 pandemic.
The global spread of the COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant effect on economic activities, impacting multiple sectors and bringing a host of changes to our business activities. In response, our priority is to safeguard the health and safety of our employees, the communities where we operate, consumers and customers, and all other stakeholders of The North York Company. We are doing our utmost to prevent infection and thus the spread of COVID-19. On the other hand, we also recognize that we need to be ready for post-COVID-19 economic recovery and renewed development.
I also recognize the business environment surrounding our company has changed at a tremendous pace and unexpected events have been occurring relentlessly. In addition to the struggle for hegemony between the United States and China, the Russian invasion of Ukraine has engulfed the entire world, only adding to the deepening division and polarization of the domestic and international community. Therefore, I am committed to executing fundamental reform, without any sanctuaries, to transform The North York Company to our next new stage of sustainable growth.
With the acceleration of ground-breaking innovation caused by the prolonged pandemic, worsening global environmental problems, and social divisions caused by conflicting opinions, we are living in unprecedented times, where people’s values and behavioral patterns, as well as the business environment, are undergoing drastic changes. Under our philosophy of “Flexibility, Digital Integration and Sustainability,” The North York Company will continue to respond to these social demands and pursue new values to meet the changing times.
Looking ahead, I am determined to lead The North York Company’s transformation into a company clearly committed to solving social issues, and to keep the company growing strongly, thereby exceeding the expectations of our stakeholders. As the President and Chief Executive Officer, setting a shared vision that resonates with all employees and shareholders is my priority. I will place greater emphasis on communication, and a strong need for flexibility, consistency, and awareness to create cohesiveness. I am deeply grateful for the support received from all of you.
While we steadily strengthen our business at hand, The North York Company will nurture new business opportunities; we also see the potential to create new businesses by combining the strengths and diversity of The North York Company with its extensive multi-industry foundation.
